Physical Description

Is a predatory snail with a smooth shell, they can vary in size 10 to 30mm in lenght. They can easily be indentified as look a little like a bullet outside of its casing.

Age and Distribution

This Ancilla obsoleta shell is from the Miocene of The Netherlands. This animal lived approximately 15 million years ago. Other Ancilla  still live today in warmer marine climates We know that Ancilla obsoleta lived with many kinds sharks, fish , other gastropods and bivalves as they can be found at the same location.
