Physical Description

Is a predatory snail with a smooth shell, they can vary in size 10 to 35 mm in lenght. They can easily be indentified as they have a large opening for the animal.

Age and Distribution

This Ficus conditus shell is from the Miocene of The Netherlands. This animal lived approximately 15 million years ago. Other Ficus still live today in warmer marine climates We know that Ficus conditus lived with many kinds sharks, fish , other gastropods and bivalves as they can be found at the same location.
