Physical Description

Is a predatory snail with a smooth shell, they can vary in size 10 to 30mm in lenght. They can easily be indentified as they spikes have that start at the opening of the shell.

Age and Distribution

This Aporrhias alata shell is from the Miocene of Belgium. This animal lived approximately 15 million years ago. Other Aporrhias still live today in warmer marine climates We know that Aporrhias alata lived with many kinds sharks, fish , other gastropods and bivalves as they can be found at the same location.
